EIHL confirm new Sky deal

The Elite League has confirmed a new television deal with sports broadcaster Sky Sports for eight live games across the new season.

There will be one live game a month, beginning with this Saturday’s encounter between last year’s Challenge Cup winners Nottingham Panthers and play-off champions Belfast Giants.

In the other weeks of each month there will be a magazine show, with highlights from matches across the league, including action and interviews.

The show will be produced by Televideo, who have worked closely with the Elite League for the last four years and have over 30 years of experience in outside broadcasting.

Elite League chairman, Eamon Convery, said: “This deal is fantastic for the sport of ice hockey in the UK.

"Having eight live games to showcase our fantastic sport is a great coup for the Elite League.

"There's a mouth-watering start with Panthers against Belfast on Saturday and both clubs are excited to be playing to a world-wide audience on prime-time Sky TV.
