Meet the Vipers at Subway this Friday!

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008

Subway and the Mincoffs Vipers have teamed up to give fans the chance to meet the Vipers players and grab a subway sandwich on Friday 29th August at the Newgate Street Subway (near The Gate) to celebrate the launch of the partnership between Subway and the Mincoffs Vipers.

Selected Vipers players will be at Newgate Street Subway between 3pm and 5pm to sign autographs and pose for photographs with fans.  Any Vipers fan attending the event will receive 20% off the bill for anyone wearing a Vipers shirt?

The offer excludes sub of the day and chicken pizziola, reggae reggae chicken and chicken teriyaki.

The event is to celebrate the launch of the partnership between Subway and the Mincoffs Vipers as the two organisations are combining forces to spread the word of healthy living to children of the North East through the Vipers Community Foundation.

The Vipers Community Foundation works with over 20,000 children a year across the North East through a school programme that uses players of the Mincoffs Vipers as role models to deliver messages on healthy living and to encourage physical activity through ball hockey.

Subway franchise owner Owen Bradford commented on the partnership between Subway and the Vipers by saying “We are proud to take this opportunity to support the work of the Vipers Community foundation because it matches closely the message that Subway worldwide tries to convey with regard to healthy eating and a healthy lifestyle. The Foundation is a great way to work towards providing children in the local community with fun, exciting and safe activities”.

Vipers General Manager Jaimie Longmuir said “We are delighted to be working with Subway to promote healthy living to children across the North East of England. It has the makings of a great partnership as we both have similar goals with regards to promoting healthy lifestyles.”

After the launch at Subway, fans can skate with the players on the ice at the Metro Radio Arena as part of the Vipers official shirt launch with doors opening at 6pm for season ticket holders and 6.30pm for non season ticket holders.
